Jul. 07, 1969 - A model of Captain Cook's Endeavour to be presented to the New Zealand Government: The first of two large models of Captain Cook's Endeavour to be presented to the New Zealand and Australia Governments, were on show to the press in the model workshop of the National Maritime Museum at Greenwich today. The presentation is in honour of Captain Cook's first voyage of Pacific discovery, 1768-1771, in which he charted the ceast of New Zealand and the East coast of Australia. This first model made by craftsmen in the model workshop of the museum, measures some six feet from bowsprit to tafferel, will be on exhibition at New Zealand House, London, for a week, and later flown to New Zealand. Photo shows putting the finishing touches the model of the Endeavour at the Maritime Museum workshop today are the craftsmen how built her.
