Nov. 11, 1969 - Support Ship For Trawler Fleet To Take Up Winter Station: The trawler Orsino the Support Ship for the fishing fleet of Iceland, was leaving hall this morning to take up her winter station. She will remain there until the end of April giving weather advice and checking on the safety of trawlers in the area. The Orsino, a stern trawler of 1574 gross tons has been chartered by the board of Trade from Northern Trawlers Ltd. of Hull She has been adapted to operate radio equipment and has a dispensary, a surgery and a hospital. In addition to her normal complement she will have a Weather Advisory Officer (the officer in charge of the operation), a Meteorological Officer, a Medical Officer, 4 radio officers and a sick berth attendant. the Weather Advisory Officer is lt. CDR T. Russell-Wallin, R.N. (Retd) who will be relieved later by Cdr. C.P. Adams, R.N. (Rd). Dr. R.W. Scott of Harrowgat will act as Medical Officer for the first six weeks of the operation. He will then be relieved by Dr. I.K.S. Mackay of Lanark who will serve for the next six weeks until relieved by Dr. T.
