Sep. 09, 1971 - Underwater Work Boat.: This Japan underwater work boat can move freely on the continental shelves to a depth of 1, 000 feet, and useful in laying and inspecting submarine cables, undersea tunnels, construction of bridge foundations, and various underwater surveys. It has been christened Hakuyo (white ocean) and is 20.5 feet long with a displacement of 6.6 tons, and carries a crew of three. Maximum speed is 3.5 knots
