1969 - Robin the Lone Round - the - World Yachtsman Nears his Journey's end.: Lone round - the - world yachtsman, Robin Knox-Johnston, was heading for Falmouth today and nearing his journey's end. The 30 year old yachtsman's 32-foot ketch Suhail was about 100-miles off lands's End on the last leg of his non-stop voyage round the world. Today he was spending his 309th day of solitary confinement in the craft that has taken him 30, 000 miles. It is almost certain that Robin will be the first man home in the race organised by the Sunday Times newspaper.
