1969 - Replica of the Nonsuch arrives in the Thames: An exact replica of a 17th, century ketch, the Nonsuch, arrived in the Thames today. The original Nonsuch sailed to Canada in 1670 and in 1671 returned to England with the first consignment of furs from the Hudson bay Company. The replica of the Nonsuch, which was built by John Hinks and Son, of Appledore, North Devon, will later sail round the coast of Britain, and then it is planned that she osses the Atlantic in the spring of 1970 to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the Hudson Bay Trading Company, Photo shows the Nonsuch replica seen in full sail passing the Tower of London today
