Sep. 03, 1973 - Rescue mini-sub men celebrate with champagne ? After a desperate battle against time, Roger Mallinson, 35, and Roger Chapman, 28, who had been imprisoned for 76 hours in their crippled mini-submarine Pisces III, were hauled 1, 575 feet up from the seabed in the Atlantic on Saturday. Landed by helicopter in Cork, they celebrated the triumphant end to the rescue operation with a bottle of champagne.
