Aug. 08, 1972 - Italian Wins the Daily Telegraph and B.P. International Power Boat Race. Carlo Bonomi, of Italy, drove his 1, 000 H.P. Aeromarine IX to an exciting victory in the Daily Telegraph and B.P. International powerboat race at Poole, Dorset, yesterday, with an average speed of 59.05 knots. He baet off strong challenges from the British competitors who occupied the next six places in the 151 nautical mile course.
