Oct. 10, 1973 - Prototype Of new police boat shown at the 14th German Boat Exhibition International in Hamburg: Looking more like a sports yacht....is the 12, 25 metre long police boat which is also shown - among about 1000 other boats and yachts on display. Yet it is the first police boat in Germany to be constructed solely of the plastic material, This makes the boat very maneuverable and light in weight. Another asset i its price: DM 330 000. Previously DM 1.2 mill. were spent on such boat, thus yielding in a major price reduction. Also there are only two crew members needed compared to previously six. After this exhibition ends, the prototype will be handed of Hamburg's water police force for which it was ordered by the Senate of Hamburg
