Mar. 03, 1974 - World's Biggest Racing Catamaran Launched: the launching took place today at Brightlingsen, Essex, of the World's biggest racing catamaran Britiusgh Oxygen She will contest the 1974 Round Britain Race in the hands of Carry Boxall and Robin Knox-Johnson, and is scheduled for the 1976 Single-handed Transatlantic Race. the 70ft Overall, 32ft. beam craft, ha been designed by Rod Macalpine-Dowine, and is the first venture to be backed by British Challengers, an association of major firms and individuals formed to support British international sporting effort.
