1974 - Yacht Race Crew Nearly Starved In The Round The World Yacht Race: The calm seas meant near starvation on board the French yawl 33 Export in the round the world yacht race. She had trted to run out of provisions because of slow progress. The situation arose because Brazilian Customs insisted on an export levy the day before the yacht left Rio for Portsmouth five weeks ago.
