Jun. 06, 1972 - Gale Stops Lone Dinghy Sailor5s In His Eight Attempt To Sail To The United States: After his eighth attepmt had failed, Mr. Derek, Heath, aged 51, last night abandoned his ambition to become the first Englishman to sail to the United States alone in a collapsible rubber dinghy. Only hours after setting from Falmouth yesterday he was driven back by gale force winds.
