Sep. 09, 1978 - A Big Welcome For Naomi As She Steps Ashore At Dartmouth: Lone Sailor Naomi James sailed triumphantly home yesterday beating the record for navigating the world single-handed in a 53ft yacht called Express Crusader. Thousands o excited people turned out to other her into Dartmouth, her home town. Naomi not only sailed the largest yacht by any woman across any ocean but was also the first woman to sail along around the Cape Horn.
