Dec. 12, 1980 - Eye of the wind returns to London.: Last Saturday, the 403rd anniversary of the start of Sir Francis Drake's circumnavigation in Golden Hind, the brigantine eye of the wind sailed up the Thames to St. Katherine's Dock to mark the completion of the two year round the world expedition Operation Drake, for the past two years young explorers, scientists and other young people have taken part in the expedition of adventure and discovery. At Saturday's ceremonies the expedition leader, Lt Col. John Blashford Snell, reported on the successful completion of the project to operation Drake's Chairman, General Sir John Mogg.
