May 05, 1980 - The Liner Norway arrives at Southampton.: The liner Norway, 69, 000 tons, the world's largest passenger ship, sailed into Southampton from Oslo yesterday in preparation for her maiden transatlantic voyage since being converted from the liner France at a coast of ?45 million. Because of extensive faults in the work done in a Bremerhaven shipyard, some passenger booking, for the run to New York were cancelled.
