Jun. 28, 1980 - June 28th, 1980: 75. Anniversary Of The Mutiny On The Russian Armoured Cruiser Potemkin: The mutiny on the Potemkin.. is 75 years since in the year 1980. At June 28th 1905 one day after the defeat of the Russian at Tshushima in the Russian-Japanese War and less days before the finally victory of the Japanese on land as well as on water -near Odessa at the Black Sea happened on the Russian armoured cruiser Potemkin the mutiny which supported the revolt of the revolutionary workers of the harbour-city. During the rebellion all officers of the ship got killed. About the bloody events on the cruiser, the well known Russian regisseur Sergei Eisenstein shot in the year 1925 a film which got well known in the Soviet Union as well as in other countries. The film depicts the massacre among the peaceful crowd on the stairs of the harbour of Odessa, the denial of the firing order by the ship guard and the increasing of the revolutionary ecstasy - scenes and moods reflecting the whole year of revolution 1905. photo Shows: The Potemkin'-crew
