Aug. 28, 1984 - On board their catamaran Royal, skippers Caradec and Facque and their crew won the 2, 890 mile race from Quebec to Saint-Malo, completing it in 8 days and 20 hours. The runner-up, Charente Maritime was 18 minutes behind. Royal's crew received 110, 000 dollars (770, 000 francs) for their victory. Pictured is the catamaran Royal upon arrival at Saint-Malo
