1981 - Easy Boat Race Win For Oxford Crew With Girl Cox: In the 127th annual university boat race between Oxford and Cambridge the Oxford crew coxed for the first time in the history of the race by a girl, Sue Brown, won confortably by several lengths. Oxford, this year's favourites, completed the course in a time of 18 minutes 11 seconds, their sixth consecutive win. Photo shows Oxford cox Sue Brown urges her crew on as they pass under Hammersmith Bridge close to the two mile mark and already comfortably clear of Cambridge
