Feb. 28 Speed skater Monika Holzner-Pflug retires from sports Four months before the beginning of the Olympic Winter Games in Innsbruck (4.2 15.2.1976), the German speed-skater Monika Holzner-Pflug (our picture) has declared that she will retire from active sports immediately, since she still suffers from an injury of her ankle which she got two years ago. Monika Holzner-Pflug was the last female member of the Federal Germany skater team since four other have already retired before. She had been pointed out to wear the Federal German flag during the entry at the Olympic Stadium
