Feb. 02, 1960 - Recknagel puts up a new record onthe ski jump of Squaw Valley. During the training for the Olympic Games in Squaw Valley, German skier Helmut Recknagel, East Germany, put up a new record on the ski jump at the Peak Papoose with a jump over 94 m. The old record was 88, 5 m. With that he made himself favourit for the Gold Medal. OPS: Helmut Recknagel during one of his masterly jumps
