1968 - Last Frontiers Of Civilization: The Brazilian Government is making great efforts to give medical care to some of their citizens living at the last frontiers of civilization in the Mato Grosso. The arrival of a physician has been announced weeks before his actual arrival so that the natives may be able to see him and travel sometimes several days to the modern medicine man who can help them. Photo shows A member of the Caraya Indian tribe came to the Governments doctor who sees his patients in the cultural center of the region, the elementary school.
