Feb. 26 Laser Gun To Revolutionise Tank Battles: British scientist have been busy perfecting a revolutionary infra-red laser gun for use in tank warfare training. Currently being evaluated by the Army, method is to become a major military money-saver slashing costs of expensive blank a shells and further providing more accoutre target work. With new method a laser bean is fired from a projector attached to the tank's gun barrel at an enemy vehicle which is occupied with special; detector device. This on turn explodes a smoke bomb which billows out smoke when a direct hurt is made. Developed by the Solartion company at Farnborough, Hampshire, the method called Sinfire is seen here during trials at a proving ground in Bovington.
