Dec. 19 Israeli Navy introduces new Saar Missile Boat.: For the first time- in a Naval Base somewhere in Israel- Foreign time correspondents and photographer were shown a new type of defense weapon, the Sear missile boat. These boats are of the same class as those that vanished from Cherbourg on New Year's Eve. and are considered to be the answer to the Russian- made Komar and Ossa gunboats that are being used by the Egyptians. The Saar will be among the fastest and most sophisticated naval craft in the Mediterranean. Apart from the containing a rapid- fare 40 mm dual- purpose gum, sonar and radar equipment, the boats are fitted with eight electronic surface- to-surface missiles, named Gabriel by the Israel Aircraft Industries, who have only just developed and built them.
