Apr. 20, 1967 - Wednesday at 1600 hours the experimental submarine Gymnote launched for the first time a test missile M-II2 that prefigures the future French submarine launched ballistic missile. The M-II2 is the first of two stages that will form the French missile S.L.B.M. before equipping the atomic submarine Le Redoutable. The permanent missile will be ready within 30 months. It will measure ten meters high, weigh fifteen tons, and will have a range of 3.000 kilometers. The trial submarine Gymnote before the launch of the missile M-II2
