1966 - Meeting of the muzzle loaders.: The monthly meeting of the Muzzle Loaders Association of Great Britain, took place yesterday at Bisley. The Association is nationwide and has a membership of 450 to 500. Although the weapons used are from periods between the 17th. and 19th. century range shooting is for serious competitive nature with affiliation to the National Rifle Association Cost of the period pieces used are from £15 and £100 and each shot costs approx. 1 1/2 d for lead and powder. Photo shows top: the sparks fly as Mrs, Margo Beli, fires a British Army piece called Brown Bass, which was standard British Army equipment at the end of the 17th.
