Oct. 10, 1967 - A New Combat Tank M 70': was introduced in Augsburg in these days. The monster, a German- American development, weighs 50 tuns. The first prototype produced by the German Development-Company is equipped with a 152-millimetre-combination-weapon, as one choses for aeroplanes or conventional munition. The crew consists of three men. By a hydropneumatic spring suspension the tank is in the position to bring itself down'. With a 1500-PS-engine the vehicle reaches a speed of 70 km/h. The technical and troops test of 16 prototype will still last four years. The price for each one of a series is stated with 2, 2 million DM.
