Bombs - Guns - Weapons

Feb. 02, 1967 - Antique German Field Gun for Sale : Standing on the forscourt outside the shop of antique dealer, Jerome Titus Walah, in Hull, is an 80mm. German field gun, a relio of the first World War. Until last summer, the gun reposed in the garden of an elderly ex-colonel who brought the gun back in 1918 as a souvenir. When he died, his widow sold the gun to Mr.Walsh. Not with standing the gun's condition - Mr.Walsh reckons it has had no maintenance in 50 years and would need a complete overhaul before anyone could fire it - the gun like it in Britian - in a London war museum. As household decoration, the gun is not everyone's object d'art because it measures 14ft.long by 7ft, wide and weights 1 1/2 tons. Mr.Walsh has already turned down offers up to £120. Nominally he is pricing her at £150 (delivery included). Nominally, because the truth is that he really doesn't want to part with the gun. Photo shows Mr.Jerome Titus Walsh brushed down the ancient gun, outside his antique shop in Hull, Yorkshire
