May 05, 1971 - Bomb Aboard - Airline Pays £235, 000 Ransom: Qantas, the Australian airline, was tricked of £235, 000 in Sydney yesterday by a hoax bomb threat. A telephone caller demanded the money to save an airborne Boeing 707, with 116 passengers, from being blown up.
