Jun. 06, 1973 - A harbour is cleared as a trawler brings in a highly dangerous war-time mine at Folkestone: About 300 people were evacuated from their sea front houses at Folkestone yesterday after a fishing trawler brought in a rusting but highly dangerous three ton war time mine tangled in its nets. The two man crew of the Folkestone trawler Fair Chance which brought the mine into the inner harbour, volunteered to tow it out to sea and 12 hours later it was exploded harmlessly by a Royal Navy bomb disposal team.
