Jul. 07, 1959 - Putney's bomb is exploded.: Bomb-disposal men worked through the night to steam away some of the explosive before exploding the 500 ib bomb which was discovered by council workmen repairing Bendemeer-road, Putney yesterday. The bomb was booby-trapped and very dangerous, and had been dropped in a 1940 sir raid.
