May 13, 1953 - Boss presents employee with her wedding gown: when 22 year old seamstress Joan Merton is married to Sidney Ohrles Watts of Tulse Hill, on Saturday she will be wearing a glamorous wedding gown of Nottingham Lace over white satin with Coronation design at the neck, embroidered with emblem and laces. Joan is employed as a seamstress at Digby Morton, the London designer, and for a wedding present Digby Morton has presented her with a wedding gown.
