Jan. 4, 1957 - London, England, U.K. - One of the latest heavyweight hopes to reach our shore in pursuit of Joe Erskine's title is IRVIN ALLEN, the 6ft. 2in. and 15st. 101lb. giant from Trinidad. He is owned and sponsored by John Huston, the movie director, who used Allen as a swimmer and stant man in a picture he made recently in Tobago. Allen is already in training in Becket's gym, in the Old Kent Road, with the help of his cousin Yolande Pompey.
