Dec. 12, 1935 - DEMPSEY GETS ANOTHER PRIZE (A STEER) New York, Dec. 12, a steer and not a bum one either - came Jack Dempsey way today. Jack, overwhelmed by the magnitude of the prize (it weighs 1, 050 pounds) loaded it in a taxi to bring it home. Jack (to right of steer) and the animal, which was the grand champion steer at the International Livestock Show in Chicago, are seen emerging from the taxi before a group of friends -- The steer little suspecting it will be chopped up into juicy steaks for Dempsey restaurant. The animal was owned and exhibited by Cleo Yoder, 19, of Wellman, IA. The Nathan Schweitzer Meat Products Company of New York brought it for a pound, and Dempsey got it from them
