Dec. 09 Polish boxer escaped: Munich, December 5, 1955 - Josef Pietron (Jozef Pietron) was born Jan 30, 1934, (he is now 21) at Smardow, District Ostrow Wielkopolski, Province Ponan, Poland. He finished eight year of elementary school in Chorzow and Katowice and one year of gymnasium in Katowice (1949). He had never boxed before 1951(17 years old and weighing 120 kilogramms or 265 American pounds and standing 187 centimeters or 74 American inches) he took up boxing in Chorzow as a heavyweight, He had not boxed before. He entered team compedition in 1952. his record briefly is as follows:1953, top heavyweight in katowice Province and sixth ranking in Poland; 1954 third ranking heavyweight in Poland; 1955 second ranking heavyweight in Poland, represented Poland as heavyweight September this year against Bulgaria, he won second top heavyweight (he lost to the Russian heavyweight Ryszard Jasznas) at International (curtain) boxing matches held at the International Youth Festival in Wasaw August 1-15 this year. Pietron entered Germany as the Polish heavyweight representative with a Polish team on October 18, 1955, boxer in Bochum (lost to German copetitor Schoepler) and in Herford (won over German heavyweight
