Jan. 25, 1973 - World Flyweight Champion Killed In Tokyo Car Crash; Masao Ohba, the world flyweight champion was killed instantly today (Jan 25, 1973) when his car in which he was the sole occupant, crossed the dividing line on an expressway in Shinjuku, Tokyo. The Japanese champion successfully retained his world title by knocking-out Chionoi Chartchai of Thailand on January 2, 1973 at the Nichidai Kodo Hall in Tokyo. Photo shows.
