Oct. 10, 1974 - Title Fight in Yokohama. Hanagata Stops Chartchai. WBA flyweight champion Chartchai Chionoi of Thailand (right) misses Japanese challenger Susumu Hanagata with a right hook by a large margin during their title fight at Yokohama Cultural Hall. Hanagata stopped Chartchai Chionoi in the 6th round of a scheduled 15 round match. Chartchai Chionoi failed to make the 112 pounds weight limit, but it was agreed that the fight would go on and the winner would be the champion. In the event of a draw the title would become vacant. Philippines referee Enrique Jimenez stopped the bout in 1m 27 secs of the 6th round when the Thai boxer was in trouble and taking a beating
