May 05, 1968 - Rolling Stone Arrested. Brian Jones Faces Drugs Charge: Pop Star Brian Jones of the Rolling Stones, was arrested at his Chelsea flat today and taken to the local police station and charged with possessing a quantity of cannabis under the Dangerous Drug Act. He appeared in court at Marlborough Street later. Four officers, including a woman detective, went to his flat just after 7 a.m. They had a search warrant and after inspecting the flat, took away a substance for forensic tests. Brian Jones was alone in the flat, which is on the third floor, when the detectives called. He was given permission to contact a solicitor before being charged.
