BB lost control over herself during the show and started sobbing moved by the situation of animals. Bardot's popularity with American audiences was unprecedented for a non-English speaking actress. The show was screened right after BB announced plans for retirement; this time, apart from a handful of television appearances, she made good on her promise, and consistently refused all offers to return to the screen
