British Coronation fashions on show at St Moritz
Feb. 16, 1953 - 16-2-53 British fashions on show on the ice at St Moritz, Switzerland. Eight of Britain's leading fashion models took part in the great display of British Coronation year styles designed and presented by the country's top designers at the Suvretta Ice Rink, St Moritz. The parades, on a carpet of ice amid the snow clad beauty of the Alps, were Britain's bid to capture the custom of rich holidaymakers from French fashion designers. In brilliant sunshine the models displayed evening gowns, afternoon dresses, sportswear and accessories. Jewelled coronets flashed and sparkled in the lovely setting.
