British driver helps to give their victory
Jun 15, 1970; Le Mans, France; A British driver, DICKIE ATTWOOD, son of a Wolverhampton garage proprietor, helped to give Porsche of Germany their first victory in the long history of the Le Mans 24 hour sports car race in France yesterday. With Hans Herrmann of Germany, he drove 2, 863 miles to victory at an average speed of 119.28mph in a 4 1/2 liter 12 cylinder Porsche.
