British Leyland merger with British Motor Holdings

Jan. 01, 1968 - Leyland To Merger With British Motor Holdings: The biggest merger in the history of Britain's motor industry was announced today, British Motor Holdings, which takes in Austin, Morris, Jaguar, MG, Wolseley and Riley cars, are to link up with the Leyland Motor Corporation, The merger will create a 505 million enterprise. A new company, to be called the British Leyland Motor Corporation is to be formed. BMH's Sir George Harrison will be chairman, and Leyland's Sir Donald Stokes, deputy chairman, managing director and chief executive.
