Jun. 06, 1953 - Trooping the Colour Ceremony. What Caught the Children's eyes.: Queen Elizabeth II took the salute at the Trooping the Colour Ceremony on Horse Guards Parade today. The occasion marked Her Majesty's official birthday. The Colour trooped was that of the First Battalion, the Grenadier Guards. The Queen wore the uniform of Colonel-in-Chief of the Regiment, a scarlet tunic, dark blue riding skirt and a hat with the Gold Badge and White Plume of the Grenadiers. Photo shows H.M.
