Apr. 18 Pots for the housewives of Thailand: Rajburi in Thailand, is to Thailand what The Five Towns are to this country, for it is here that the many pots in use all over the country, are made from the local clay. Ports of all sizes are made but chief among them are the huge Ali-babtype which are used for storing drinking water in the country districts and urban districts of the towns where there is no piped water. The ports are mostly of a dark brown colour with a yellow pattern. The pots are brought to the side of the canal by lorry from the factories and kilns and are then loaded onto the many sampans for transport up the canals to towns and villages throughout the country.
