Dec. 12, 1955 - Secret of the Cellars: In the year of the Battle of Waterloo (1815) Samuel Birch, Lord Mayor of London, passed on a recipe for a punch to a Mr. John Ring. Since then the firm have made the punch solely for British palates. Now they are to export it, and the first international outpourings of the old cellars are expected to go abroad shortly. Photo shows Boutonniered Lindsay Ring, great, great nephew of the reciever of the recipe, directs the mixing of the punch, performed by Head Cellerman William McCleary, 25, years with the firm in the London cellars.
