Feb. 02, 1961 - Supreme head of the Mormons in Britain on Ten Million pound crusade.: Eighty seven year old President David O. McKay, Supreme head of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints the Mormons, was to be seen in London yesterday. He is here to start a £10, 000, 000 crusade to Save Britain his first step being to open the newly built £330, 000 temple for Mormons in Kensington. There sre only 20, 000 Mormons in Britain. Mr. McKay says he is here to start his crusade by building. Temples all over Britain. The say the money for this comes from the home of their church in Salt Lake City. He says his members give a tenth of their income to the Church. They also fast and give the money saved to the Church.
