Seventy five year old Mrs. Hannah Smith walked into the Station office at Alrewas, Staffs. yesterday to collect her perambulator - the pram which she could not bear to give up. she left the pram there sixteen years ago - packed with some of her treasures including two thimbles - a prayer book - a Union Jack etc. It had been stored at the Station for sixteen years - at1 per month a total of190 in storage fees. Mrs. Smith said she had wheeled her four children in the pram - and just could net bear to with it. Now the station is due for closure under the Beaching plan - so that is probably why Mrs. Smith decided to collect it.
