Jul. 07, 1965 - Wine firm to fight take-over bid.: A £9, 000, 000 take-over bid for Harveys of Bristol - the Bristol Cream Sherry firm - was described by the firm's chairman Mr. George McWatters as being too bloody low. The Take-over bid comes from Showerings, the 200 year old Somerset firm who began making cider and are now best known for their Babycham champagne perry drink.
