1967 - When Father Is Boss It's Twice as Tough'.: Annabel Bostock, newly-appointed director of the money -spinning Lotus shows company, admitted yesterday: I would never made it if I wasn't my father's daughter. Father is Mr. James Bostock, 63-year old chairman and managing director of the Lotus and Delta shoes empire.Annabel was invited to join the board, which has five other directors, four men and and one women, on Monday. She is 34 and is the sixth generation of her family to join the Lotus board. I was pleasantly surprised she said. It was never my burning ambition. Annabel, married to the owner of a light-engineering business, joined Lotus as a trainee at the age of 18. She worked in all departments at the main Lotus factory in Staffrd learning the roped. After a six month spell in the U.S. on the retail side, she was appointed fashion adviser to the company. And then three years ago came the turning point on her career. She took over the company's ailing prestige shop in London's Bond Street, and substantially increased the turnover and profits.
