Jun. 06, 1968 - Van Gogh's Portrait Of His Mother Is Sold For 10, 000 At Christie Today: Van Gogh's portrait of his mother, painted in 1888, the property of the Rev. Theodore Pitcairn. was sold today at Christie's for 10, 000. The portrait was bought by Stephen Hahn, a dealer from Chicago. This is second important Van Gogh portrait Mr. Pitcairn has put up for auction in the lest two years. In 1966 he sold the portrait of Mile Ravoux for 57, 500.
