Aug. 08, 1969 - American Firm Drops 5M. Bid for Pergamon Press. Leasco Data Processing has withdrawn its proposed 5 million offer for Mr. Robert Maxwell's publishing group Pergamon Press. The city take over panel last night asked the Stock Exchange to consider the suspension of dealing in Pergamon shares pending clarification of the reason for Leasco's withdrawal. Leasco's a 50 million American computer and financial services organisation, whose boss is Mr. Saul Steinberg.
