Jun. 06, 1969 - Special Trades Union Congress at Croydon delegates are confronted by demonstrators outside: A special trades union congress was held today at Fairfield Hall, Croydon, today, to discuss their plan which gives them greater disciplinary power to settle strikes. Leaders of Britain's biggest union, the Transport and General workers are backing the plan, but has made it a condition that the Government drops plans for penal clauses in its delayed legislation.
